Most common causes of frequent micturition

If you are suffering from frequent micturition following could be the common causes:
- Infection: Urinary tract infection irritate bladder and causes urge to urinate.
- Diabetes: High blood sugar cause increased water intake and resultant increased urination.
- Overactive bladder: Cause frequent and urgent need to urinate.
- Pregnancy: Pressure on bladder by gravid uterus cause frequent urination.
- Prostate enlargement: Enlarged prostate in men can cause obstruction to urine flow and incomplete emptying of bladder and resultant frequent micturition.
- Cystitis: Chronic inflammation of inner lining of bladder, swelling and pain.
- Neurological causes: Stroke, multiple sclerosis affects the nerves that supply to bladder.
- Caffeine and alcohol consumption,carbonated drinks increases urine production.
- Psychological factors: Stress can increase urge to urinate.
- Habits: Excessive fluid intake.
- Stones: Kidney and renal stones irritate the bladder and cause urge to urinate
